At Baty Angus Ranch, we have found enormous value in owning and using good dogs. A good dog is worth his weight in gold and we are constantly looking for strong and intelligent bloodlines. 


It has been said that trained stock dogs are irreplaceable. A number of ranchers have honed their training skills at workshops and dog trials. "A well trained stock dog will help ranchers save money by getting the job done efficiently. One good dog can easily replace three or more people working cattle or sheep", says WSDA treasurer Bonnie Mitts. Ranchers quickly find out how irreplaceable well-trained stock dogs are to their livelihoods, and it's my belief that the border collie far excels as the best working dog on livestock. When working with a dog and its owner, Mitts observes them together before doing anything else. Many people don't understand the importance of bonding with their dogs and developing a partnership. Dogs are pack animals, and we need to understand that we're alpha, we're the leader. We offer stud dog services as well as puppy and started dog sales. We will take sales contracts on future litters as well.
